The design of the KIRA 4.0 boots is based on a recent customer survey where we asked about their ideal winter boots. The most requested features—warm lining, non-slip soles, side zippers—are all included. You asked, KIRA delivered!

The KIRA 4.0 boots are part of a limited edition collection made to celebrate Tartu being named the European Capital of Culture.

The Tartu 2024 models are available in limited quantities, and each pair comes with a unique serial number.

They are manufactured in Europe according to the NATO AQAP 2110 standard by the same factory making one of the most legendary military boots, M77s. The same manufacturer has also worked with well-known brands, including Dr. Martens and Rossignol. So you can be assured they have military-grade quality and robustness. The name of the shoes, Widgets, comes from the hipster area in Tartu, Estonia, where the shoe factory is located, The Widget Factory. During the depressing Soviet times, the area was used to manufacture refrigeration equipment and secret submarine parts, and to mislead the public, non-functioning umbrellas and zippers. But nowadays, the area brings together creative entrepreneurs, artist and designer studios, cafes and, of course, the shoe factory.

    M77 Inner Socks

    If you plan to wear our most popular boots and of the best-known military boots in the world, M77’s, in the freezing winters, we recommend our inner socks that are made precisely for M77. Multiple NATO armies use them in the winter to keep their feet warm, and so should you. And they do fit only with M77s. So if you own a pair of Timberlands and your feet are cold, please don’t try these socks – they won’t fit anyway.

    The socks are made of 100% polyester PELLAGO material. The fabric is strong and durable, protects against moisture, repels dirt and retains heat.
