How to start selling on Shopify?

Hertwill’s Shopify app lets you swiftly add high-quality dropshipping products from selected European brands to your store. Here’s everything you need to know.

Install the Hertwill App:

Log into your Shopify store and download the Hertwill app from the Shopify App Store. After installation, you’ll be automatically directed to Hertwill’s login page. If you don’t have an account yet, please register for one.

All prices are wholesale. We stock items and ship out orders, so you would’t have to have a warehouse and deal with deliveries.

Some brands don’t require approval. See the list of brands here. You can add these brands to your store now. Press the Sync button in the Import List and products will appear in your store shortly. Remember to adjust the sales price according to your desired profit margin.

Most of the products we provide are from designer brands and require their approval before you can sync them to your store. If your store is professional and trustworthy, you can expect quick approval. Learn more about brand requests and what is essential for quick responses.

  1. Order Fulfilment Settings: Enable automatic fulfilment to send orders to Hertwill automatically. Go to Shopify Settings-> General-> Order processing and check the box next to ‘Automatically fulfil the order’s line items.’
  2. Collect Phone Numbers During Checkout: It’s crucial to collect a phone number during checkout, as we need it for order fulfillment. To make this field required in your Shopify store, go to Settings -> Checkout and mark the ‘Shipping address phone number’ as required.

Navigate to the billing details in your Hertwill account and add your bank card information. We charge you for each order before shipping it out. We are unable to fulfil your order if your bank card is not added.

  1. Congratulations on Your First Order! Once you’ve sold an item, we will receive the order automatically thanks to the integration and take care of order fulfilment, including packaging and shipping. Please ensure you have turned on automatic fulfilment (see point 5).
  2. Delivery Times: Delivery times depend on the destination and product; most orders are delivered within 3-7 working days in the EU.
  3. Orders: All your orders with tracking numbers are seen on your Hertwill’s account at Order’s view.
  4. Invoices and Customer Service: Invoices for your orders can be found under Billing & Invoices. If you or your customers have any questions, or if a customer wants to cancel, exchange, or return an item, please email us at hello@hertwill.com or contact our customer support team via live chat.

Why am I seeing a "Shipping not available" error when customers try to check out in my Shopify store?

This error usually happens when the Hertwill location isn’t added to your Shopify shipping profiles after installing the Hertwill app. To fix it, go to your Shopify settings, navigate to “Shipping and Delivery,” and ensure that the Hertwill location is included in your shipping profiles. Once added, this should resolve the shipping issue.

Why does my product show as "Out of Stock" on the storefront, even though the inventory shows it’s in stock in Shopify admin?

If your product appears as “Out of Stock” on the storefront but has stock in Shopify admin, this may be due to the Hertwill location not being added to your Shopify shipping profiles. To fix it, go to your Shopify settings, navigate to “Shipping and Delivery,” and ensure that the Hertwill location is included in your shipping profiles. This should resolve the issue and update your product availability.

Why doesn’t the order status change in my Shopify store?

In Shopify stores, we currently don’t change the order statuses but basically only the fulfillment statuses. The reason we don’t change the entire order status is that an order can have line items (products) that are fulfilled differently (e.g., order X has product Y, which is fulfilled by Hertwill, and product Z, which comes from the merchant’s own warehouse). Otherwise, it might happen that we change the status for the whole order and mark it complete even though it really isn’t.
