TAIRI is an Estonian leather accessories designer who creates and works in her Tallinn studio. Tairi has a background in studying leather design at the Tartu Art College Pallas, where she graduated as a leather designer specialising in accessories and bags. After her studies, and her heart full of desire to expand her knowledge of design and fashion, Tairi moved to London where she lived and worked for 9 years. She worked her way up within the fashion retail industry, working as a Visual Merchandising project planner for one of London’s best-known designer. Implementing different projects with a talented team gave her the opportunity to gain experience and develop her eye for fashion in a fast paced and innovative environment. Now located in Estonia, Tairi produces her own leather accessories and bags from her studio. Modern and functional leather products that exemplify a timeless classical style with a fun twist is her signature feature. Functional designs, high quality materials and a personal approach are the priority of the brand. With an eye on the importance of sustainable design and the negative impact of fast fashion, TAIRI incorporates deadstock leather and recycled materials in her designs. This approach means product designs are often unique and limited.

    Widgets are no-nonsense unisex shoes made of genuine leather. They are manufactured in Europe according to the NATO AQAP 2110 standard by the same factory making one of the most legendary military boots, M77s. The same manufacturer has also worked with well-known brands, including Dr. Martens and Rossignol. So you can be assured they have military-grade quality and robustness. The name of the shoes, Widgets, comes from the hipster area in Tartu, Estonia, where the shoe factory is located, The Widget Factory. During the depressing Soviet times, the area was used to manufacture refrigeration equipment and secret submarine parts, and to mislead the public, non-functioning umbrellas and zippers. But nowadays, the area brings together creative entrepreneurs, artist and designer studios, cafes and, of course, the shoe factory.
