Questions

What product should be used to wash a baby? We recommend that you avoid detergents for as long as possible, as they can disturb the skin’s microflora and weaken the skin’s defenses. Using shampoo for washing hair should only be started when the baby reaches the age of a toddler.

What does food quality composition mean? This means that the product is safe to eat.

Is raspberry seed oil suitable for protecting the skin from the sun? Raspberry seed oil has become a very popular tanning product in recent years. Pure raspberry seed oil has been shown to provide protection from the sun’s UVA and UVB rays comparable to titanium dioxide (SPF 25+ for UVB and SPF 8 for UVA rays). This is not enough protection for “frying” yourself in the sun, but in certain situations, it provides the possibility to avoid synthetic sunscreen products, including those containing carcinogens.

Milk thistle oil and hemp seed oil also protect the skin from oxidative stress caused by external factors and UV rays.  Thus, all three oils contained in the baby oil help to increase the skin’s natural defenses against external influences due to their high content of antioxidants and vitamins.

However, we always recommend that especially young children but also adults should protect themselves with headgear and sunbathe responsibly.

• AHA fruit acid complex is a multi-functional blend of natural ingredients rich in alpha hydroxy acids (AHA). The main function of AHAs lie in their keratinolytic ability – the acids weaken the bonds between dead skin cells, causing exfoliation, and resulting in a fresher look to skin and fewer clogged pores.
• Our organic anti-acne composition contains a unique mixture of ingredients plucked straight from the Amazon rainforest – copaiba balsam (copaifera officinalis) resin, andiroba (carapa guianensis) seed oil, and açaí  (euterpe oleracea) oil. Studies show that this composition reduces acne breakouts by up to 42.9% after 48 days of continuous use. A reduction in breakouts is already noticeable after just three weeks!

Usage

Use every morning and/or evening to clean your face. The cleansing milk is multi-functional and can be used in a variety of ways. Apply to a cotton pad – or directly to your hands – and rub on your face to remove excess oil and dirt. Afterwards, rinse with lukewarm water. For best results, ensure skin is damp before beginning.

Alternatively, use the cleansing milk as a face mask for even deeper cleansing. Keep the cleansing milk on your face for up to 2 minutes for the first few uses of this method, then gradually increase to 3-5 minutes if necessary. Do not leave a cleansing milk face mask on for longer than 10 minutes and use this method no more than a few times a week.

LUMI Tundra AHA-BHA Cleansing Milk is a fantastic treatment for sensitive skin thanks to its high lactic acid content. Once the condition of facial skin has improved, however, we recommend the use of LUMI Moisturising Facial Cleansing Milk, which has a lower lactic acid content.

Due to the rich amount of bioactive substances found within, this cleansing milk may cause irritation and slight skin redness at first. In these situations, we recommend using the product on dry skin for the first few uses, which will make the effects of the bioactive substances milder.

Not suitable for use with topical or oral medications containing retinol or its derivatives.

When using LUMI Tundra products, we recommend avoiding tanning and exposure to intense sunlight immediately after use. There is no need to stop using Tundra products during summer months, as the Tundra series was designed for daily use and contains only a mild concentration of AHAs. What skin type is CBD salve designed for?

The salve is intended to treat inflammatory problem areas that require immediate and effective attention – areas of skin that are itchy, red, or otherwise irritated.

The salve is very effective for a wide range of issues. Baby cheeks with dermatitis and roughness, patches of psoriasis on the body, dermatitis of the hairline or eyebrows, acne, or cold sores on lips.

Cold-pressed hemp seed oil

Hemp seed oil is the king of skin oils because it has the finest proportions of omega fatty acids, vitamins, phytosterols, chlorophyll, and antioxidants. It hydrates, nourishes, and stimulates skin restoration. 80% is unsaturated fatty acids, which the body cannot make on its own. Yet they are essential as the primary structural component of cell membranes. Fatty acids improve energy exchange and nutrition intake between cells by keeping cell membranes elastic.

Hemp oil improves the skin’s capacity to retain moisture, making people with dry skin and dermatitis very happy. The oil is light, quickly absorbed, and does not clog pores. Suitable for acne and oily skin because of its high linoleic acid concentration.

Black cumin oil 

The oil from the Nigella Sativa plant was a panacea (cures all) among Egyptian pharaohs. The oil has anti-inflammatory, anti-clogging, and anti-acne properties and has been widely examined using current scientific methods. Regular use can help prevent both signs of ageing and hyperpigmentation.

The oil has over 100 different active compounds. The most famous one is thymoquinone. Thymoquinone has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. Black cumin is also rich in unsaturated fatty acids (omega 3-6-9), vitamins (essential for the skin are A, B, and C), various macro- and microelements (e.g. iron, zinc, magnesium, copper, selenium), phytosterols, and bioflavonoids.

Vitamin E 

Extends cell life span. Strengthens cell membranes and protects them by neutralising destructive free radicals. Improves cellular respiration and helps to absorb active substances. In skincare products, it smoothes and softens skin texture and prevents premature ageing. Vitamin E also acts as a preservative in natural creams.

Questions about CBD salve

Side effects?

CBD salve does not cause side effects such as itching, thinning of the skin, redness, or stria (stretch marks or lighter streaks on the skin) like products containing hormones tend to do.

CBD salve and sun?

Hormone salves should not be exposed to the sun immediately after application because the skin’s defences are reduced, and the skin is sensitive. There is no such problem with CBD salve – you do not have to be afraid of the sun.

Does CBD have a narcotic effect?

Unlike THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), CBD is not a psychoactive cannabinoid and is not classified as a narcotic. CBD salve has no narcotic properties.

 

Important to remember

LUMI products are unique – chemical-free, fresh, and minimally processed, so please protect them from direct sunlight. The salve is the best for your skin for up to three months after opening. If you take a break from use, store the product in the refrigerator to slightly extend the shelf life of the cream. But of course, the fresher, the better!
